Has your vehicle been removed?

This page is here to help you find your vehicle and arrange its release. Please read each step.

  1. 1

    Check where it is.

In London, you can find out whether your vehicle has been removed and where it's held by contacting TRACE: trace.london or call 0300 077 0100. Have your vehicle registration number to hand.

If your vehicle was removed for no tax, the DVLA is the seizing authority. Contact the DVLA Seized Vehicles helpline on 0300 790 6802 or visit gov.uk/get-a-clamped-or-impounded-vehicle-released.

If your vehicle was removed for being abandoned, your local council or police is responsible. You can find out more via the Metropolitan Police seized vehicle page.
